Condatos

Condatos is the leading annual open data conference in Latin America and the Caribbean that brings together diverse actors from different sectors, such as the public sector, academia, private companies, civil society and citizens, to participate in conferences, panel discussions and working sessions on topics related to the open data ecosystem and open government.

The main objectives of Condatos, which is held annually in conjunction with the Abrelatam deconference, can be summarized as follows:

·       Promote knowledge and learning about open data, its use and impact on stakeholders in government, civil society, academia, multilateral agencies and the private sector.

·       Strengthen and expand the community of practice formed around the event, promoting joint work, knowledge sharing, joint projects and the dissemination of cases, best practices and research on open data with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean.

·       Co-create regional agendas for working with open data through dialogue among the diversity of actors present at the event.

These activities are also developed with a very marked profile of these events and their community, where the work with open data is not limited to technical dimensions, but has been characterized by a strong imprint of rights in many different dimensions, and has evolved in the last 10 years along with the demands and realities of the region.
