This year, between December 3 and 6, 2024, Brasilia/Brazil will host Open America, a meeting that brings together renowned national and international events related to civic technologies, data journalism, open government and others.

The meeting will host the Conference on Data Journalism and Digital Methods (Coda.Br), the Open Meeting for an Open Region (Abrelatam), the Regional Conference on Open Data in Latin America (Condatos), BR Data Week and the Open Government Meeting.

The following questions are intended to help you register for the activities and get to know the event’s audience better, in order to provide a more fruitful and diverse experience.

Registration runs from September 20th to November 20th 2024.

Section 4 of 4 – Privacy Policy

By registering for this event, you freely, informedly and unequivocally consent to the use of your personal data, subject to the following conditions:

a) The purpose of collecting this data is to enable the execution of the event at the given location, as well as to enable communication between the organization of the event and the people registered. 

b) The collection of data on race/color, gender identity, age group, sector of activity and place of residence, in particular, is intended to make it possible to choose scholarship recipients according to predefined criteria.

c) If authorized, names and emails may be given to event sponsors for future contact.

d) Open Knowledge Brasil (OKBR) will process the data collected as part of the organization of América Aberta 2024. The data will be shared with the local organizing committee (the Office of the Comptroller General, OKBR, the Ponto BR Information and Coordination Center and the University of São Paulo’s Development and Participation Collaboratory), as well as with the administration of the Serzedello Correa Institute, the venue where the event will be held. In order to prepare accountability reports for sponsors, we will use aggregated and de-identified information about the people registered.

e) The people participating in the Open America event authorize the capture of their images and voices, and are aware that this record may be broadcast in various types of media, such as print, television, radio and digital, by the organizing organizations, and may suffer any cuts or adjustments.

f) OKBR declares that it adopts the security practices and measures required by the General Data Protection Law – LGPD (Law No. 13,709/2018), while also ensuring all your rights as a data subject.

g) The data collected will be kept by OKBR for 120 days. If you have any questions or requests (modification, deletion, etc.), please write to contato@2024.abrelatam.org.
